So I was planning a mid length single fin build but plans change and I’m saving the Pu for winter as I can glass it with poly when it’s damp and frosty.
This is a board I’ve had in my head for a while when the surfs small I often just ride prone. Some boards feel better doing this than others my favorite is a 5’9" x21 3/4 eggy thing it has heavily foiled 50/50 rails in the front which really seem to sink and hold into the face when riding it prone.
But it feels too big so I’m making a smaller version 5’x21 . So far I’ve made a template and cut the outline tomorrow I’ll square the cuts with the sanding block and glue in the bamboo stringer.
Nice outline. What is the bottom foil going to look like? Vee or concave in tail?
Looks like a hell of a lot of fun. Something about the wave face being so close.Makes you feel like you are doing ninety.
Plan is to roll it all the way through underneath with a slightly concave deck. Should be quite flexy.
I’ll say nice start!
Sanding block?
Relevant to cut for stringer.
No troll.
I cut a lot of my blanks.
Tried it both ways.
And little difference.
But, of course I’m careful with my saw.
Fine crosscut hand saw, that is.
Aloha
Thanks I’ve enjoyed your builds.
I did use the sanding block on the stringer cut for this as I cut both halves from a sheet of eps with a craft knife some times its nice not making noise. Change of plans for the stringer just colored glue and paper simpler to shape and no nasty splinters like the bamboo.
Pressed together with wedges and some tape bit rough but does the trick.
