scary stuff but works good

hi, this is my first post and i really apericate everything that this site has to offer people so im hear doing my part to try and show people something that most dont know about. im doing my first old school style color panal and pin line using some diffrent chemicals.  first i preped the area[img_assist|nid=1059456|title=color panal work|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=233|height=158] then taped it off

[img_assist|nid=1059461|title=colbolt and dma|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=204|height=137]

then i poured 5 oz's of sanding resin in a cup then added 2 1/2 oz's of the pigment, stir that up real good then added 5 cc's of mekp stir that up good then added 2 drops of colbolt then stired up then 1 drop of DMA. **warning these chemicals when mixed wrong can make a posioness bomb so be carefull. you want to throughly mix before adding the next chemical.** so the dma with help heat up the resin while the colbolt with help it cure properly, the temp at that time was about 65 degrees and the ratio of chemicals changes with diffrent tempetures. when everything is mixed up you have about 3 or 4 min to lay down and get smooth, after about 5 min the resin should be gelled by then so as soon as you done brushing it on you want to pull the tape then let it cure

once the panal is cured i use the same proses to do the pinline

[img_assist|nid=1059459|title=pinline|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=234|height=346][img_assist|nid=1059458|title=pinline|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=234|height=345]

as you can see im not good at all pinlineing but whatever ill learn, once every thing has cured you want to sand down but be vary care not to sand through the pigment then clean off the dust and put a gloss coat over then polish[img_assist|nid=1059460|title=polished panal|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=236|height=348] so good luck **and be carfull**

Back in the days, we used resin that was not “accelerated”. BEFORE adding PMEK, we had to add cobalt FIRST. I’m surprised that you do the opposite. In any case, NEVER EVER mix cobalt with PMEK: BOOM!!!
