Screenprint on foam or on rice paper

I just spent this morning making a screen of some art for a customer with EZScreenprint’s kit. Really simple to use, mine turned out halfway decent as far as I can tell. I did a couple practice runs with some scrap foam and I’m not sure I’m getting the definition I’d really like directly on the foam.

Would it make more sense to print onto rice paper and stick that on the deck instead? Only slight issue might be that the board has been painted medium blue and the rice paper might show.

Or are there better techniques for screenprinting onto foam? I picked up a bottle of Speedball acrylic ink for paper/cardboard. Would fabric paint be better?

Foam is fairly absorbent, rice paper less so. Unless you want to try spackling first.
