im cutting out a load of fins at the moment seems like i get thru a whole packet of blades per fin. any suggestions thanks
the glass and resin is prolly chewing up your blades in a heartbeat. Try a blade made for cutting Corian resin/stone dust countertop material- http://www.olsonsaw.com/scroll_chart.html among others. http://www.saw-online.com/…/Resource/Blades.htm for even more. Alternative B is to use a saber saw, there’s blades made for those to cut just about anything. hope that’s of use. doc
Hey Pauluk, Get some carbide grit blades – they’re expensive but if you’re careful you can get about an hour out of a blade. Vibration and tight radius cuts are the blades enemy. The more the work vibrates the shorter and the more you bind it the blade life. Save some of the rough outline work in the tight spots for when you start foiling and just fair things up with course grit grinding or do a little had work with a half round bastard file. There another tool I’m going to try if it works well I’ll post the results. If it doesn’t I won’t bother. Mahalo, Rich
We used to lay up fin panels on a piece of glass,we cut them with a utility razor knife when the resin jelled. Its all in the timing.
use a jigsaw with: T130RF3 if it´s t shank U30RF3 if it´s u shank
