sealing an alaia

I've been thinking about building an alaia forever and finally got around to it this weekend...its 6'1 by 16 by 1/2 and i made it from pine. before i started, i read all the alaia posts i could find on here so thanks for all the inspiration! i dont want to repost a question, but seeing as the board came out 100% better than i thought it would i want to make sure it'll be watertight. i'm sealing it with  Behr Waterproofing Wood Protector http://www.behr.com/dsm-ext/v/index.jsp?vgnextoid=3f85f11390a59110VgnVCM1000006b0910acRCRD&vgnextfmt=defaul#channel=INSPIRATION;vgnextoid=2bca536658689110VgnVCM1000006f1010acRCRD;view=17

do you think that'll do the trick? i was expecting a glossy shell like what urethane would have left but its still soft wood, just darker now.

thanks for the input!
