second board advice?.. and then the third...

Hey everyone,

ive been lurking for a while now (i think i may have posted a few times), and ive decided its time to get some advice of my own… ive finished 2 boards now, and am making a third for a friend once the blank comes in tomorrow… the first board im not going to get into right now, as it was a learning experience more than anything else…

the second board was a 5’11x 18.5 x 2.25 standard shortboard for myself which i finished about a month ago… it has very thinned out rails and a deep single concave through the tail. i installed FCS plugs because of how easy its, but didnt anchor them to the deck (broke both sidefins out very quickly, wont make that mistake again). anyway here are some pictures of the board. it is 2lb eps with a pvc stringer. 6oz bottom 2x6oz deck. RR epoxy

i was just looking for any advice, or anything u guys see thats wrong with it…

Can’t really offer any advice for your problems but I am curious what material your stinger is made from?

It looks black in the photos.

ok so the blanks should be in tomorrow, and i made my template based on this design i made in APS3000…

also, disregard the rails in the picture, they will be pretty standard, so i didnt bother with them in aps3000

the board was meant to be a standard short board, with a little bit of a fuller nose…

it was designed for my friend who knows what he is doing, but is looking for a board to step his surfing up a bit.

i was aiming for something that will paddle well, but still perform

waverider1510, looks pretty sweet. I like the full nose, I just drew up a board with similar dims. When are you shaping it? I’m around until the 21st if you’d like to get a Sways gathering together.

thanks, im shaping it tomorrow, and then hopefully laming the bottom tomorrow afternoon if i can get my buddys garage warm enough…

im going home to NJ tuesday or wednesday, depending on the boards progress (im hoping to have the whole board lammed before i go home so well see)… but keep in touch and well see if we can meet up sometime before i head home…
