Here are pictures of my reincarnated single fin from a neglected early 90's Coastline thruster.[img_assist|nid=1056939|title=deck 90's 6'8" Coastline|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=0|height=0][img_assist|nid=1056940|title=SECOND LIFE SURFBOARD #2 b|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=0|height=0][img_assist|nid=1056941|title=SECOND LIFE SURFBOARD#3|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=0|height=0][img_assist|nid=1056942|title=SECOND LIFE SURFBOARD #2 d|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=0|height=0][img_assist|nid=1056943|title=SECOND LIFE SURFBOARD #2 e|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=0|height=0][img_assist|nid=1056944|title=SECOND LIFE SURFBOARD #2 f|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=0|height=0][img_assist|nid=1056945|title=SECOND LIFE SURFBOARD #2 g|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=0|height=0][img_assist|nid=1056946|title=SECOND LIFE SURFBOARD #2 h|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=0|height=0]
Gavage- good job!
Beerfan- the hardest part is stripping it gotta be careful and don’t chew up the foam… FYI-I’ve shaped a total of 3 re-shaped boards that all came out well. You’d be amazed at the transformation one can do to a old beat up board.the first thing to do is evaluate blank to what the biggest board you can make out of it. Second step is shaping it.
second attempt at posting pictures
Great work. I've only attempted a reshape, both with dire consequences. My all time fave twin keel fish ( best board ever! ) died that way. I still kick myself about it. I think its easier to shape a whole new board. Great stuff!!.
Lightweight spackle is definitely your friend after stripping the glass off.
nice job - very classy!
wow that came out good!!
Your board looks great! I’m finishing up my 2nd board resurrection project. I never thought to use the spackle. So do you just fill the voids in the foam and glass as usual, or is there more to it?
I just filled the voids in as usual. I also sprayed it with some kilz water based primer to make it a little more uniform white.
