Seeking 1963 North Shore Crew

Speaking of Foster Village did any of you know the Mike Salthouse or Lonnie Keoho (spelling?). I went to Radford back around then and so did Jim Phillips.

Ryan!!!!

What a delight to hear from you.    No, I was not a LJ high grad, but was a regular at Windansea.   About a month ago Ron McLeod gave me a copy of the films taken that 1963 winter.   Lots of Pipeline, as well as our trip to Waimea Falls, with you, Ronny, Garth, and Peter Miller.   Your crew was staying at Kawela Bay, as I recall.   That was a  great season, eh?   I remember your shaping shack at Sunset, with the egg crate sound dampening material on the walls.   That was winter 1967, when you showed me your shaping room.    I was staying at Makaha that winter, and would come to the NS with Buzzy, or Doc White, when the surf was up.   Do you remember the near closeout, 30 foot Waimea that November?   I was never really comfortable at that place.   I much preferred Sunset, Laniakea, and Makaha when it was big.    By the way, this talk of small waistes, and heads of hair, is gonna piss me off! LOL!!   Sure wish that was my condition.   PM an address to me and I'll send one of the fliers to you for the  annual Windansea ''geezer gathering'', this Sept.    It has been an annual event for fifteen years now.    Again, so pleased to hear from you, after all these years.

Aloha Nui,

Howzit Ryan, Great to have you aboard here on Swaylocks. I am sure you don't remember me but we did kow each other on the North Shore in the early 70's before I moved to Kauai in 73. The last time we saw each other was on Ke Iki Rd and you me and Fat Tom sollers were talking and have I puff when Adam Guy ( about 6 years old then) came up and joined us. I am making a move back to the mainland after over 40 years in the Islands, have you been backsince you moved. Aloha,Kokua AKA Mike Williams

i guess he writing a book about then,

it was a great time between the giant surfboard boom industry  0f the 50's and 60's after gidget and the monster millon $$ corperation of now then the crew was just stoked to just make enough to go  feral surfing

i mean we all waited for what next would come out of the clouds of smoke from the underground shaping bays of those days
