Picked up this vintage Hobie that’s had too to much sun & was probably left floating in water. In my brief experience with older Srfbds, it has the name Chuck Rowan glassed in on the deck, & the most info I’ve found so far is the description of him being an adventurer etc, who’s favorite surf spot was San O’. Appreciate any info about him, team rider, etc…
That was probably a nice board when it was new. It was “new” some time around 1966-68. That is roughly the period when Hobie was using his own “dogbone” fin system/box.
I have no idea who Chuck Rowan is.
What a piece of junk…I love it. Surf it and have fun.
