Shaper's Barrel

Has anyone here in the US tried a shaper’s barrel? Is it really that much quieter that a blade? How smooth can a barrel shape? I thought that blades cut smoothly. Waiting to hear.

Barrels are great for deck side noses with alot of flip.

Herb is correct. The barrel is great for cleaning things up. NOTHING beats a good sharp set of blades that are set properly. aloha.

AMEN to that brother!

I am very interested in the abrasive cutter heads. Does anyone know if Stan Plescunas still makes them. If not where can you get one. I have heard they are very good for turning rails and cleaning up not to mention shaping epoxy blanks.
