Working on a fun contest idea...you shape your own board, and have a contest to see who gets bragging rights!!! Thinking about May for the combo swells in the Huntington Bch area. This would be a blast, and I believe there are enough shapers in the area that would like to do this. Soooo, gimme some feedback. I have a Facebook page under "Shapers Shredfest" so get added to it and lets do it!!! Be super cool to see all the different boards coming out of the woodwork!! And of course the after party.........nuff said!!
If you don't shred but would like to hang out and surf mellow waves keep an eye out for the Swaylock's San Onofre campout some time in May. Still working on the dates...............

I would guess, based on prior threads, that most shapers here are in it for the love of the craft and not driven by the contest mentality. Sounds like a good idea if it were limited to unconventional shapes, or boards made only from recycled goods, etc. I’m with stingray…

Even though its a "Shredfest" the idea is to gather the tribes and have a good time! Its more of a expression session with divisions like Asymetrical and Unlimited Backyarder.....its all about havin fun kids!! And Herb, who benefits....and money......ME!!!!! I wanna get paid and run off on a surf trip!!!! ;) Im sure its gonna be cheap, and easy... like me!

Maybe we should organise a southern hemisphere equivalent, with the winners of both to have a surf-off in the middle of the pacific somewhere (Tahiti or Fiji sound nice to me). We’re all rolling in cash, so money shouldn’t be a problem…
