shaping 101 vs the master series

i am buying these for my boyfriend which one is better.

the master series are far better in my opinion.

I have only seen the Master Shaper/Glasser disks. They are great. Watched them both many times before starting my first board. Master Shapper is all longboards. If he is into short boards you might want to go 101 which is only short boards. So it some what depends what he’s into. Master series is doing a short board disk also. Don’t know when it will be done. Google on “Damascuss Master Shaper” and to see if Master Shaper II is ready (just looked not yet).

either way great gift.

I’ll give my standard answer: GET BOTH!!!

I agree with Keith… even though JimtheGenius shapes a longboard in the video, the general shaping instruction is applicable to boards of any size is much more in-depth than the 101 vid. Just my 2 cents. cheers, Brennan

Joshmosh has got it. If its your first board the 101 will be more useful. After a few boards you will want the masters series. 101 gives it to you step by step. The master series shows a master shaper doing his thing with a running commentary. Mike

he is mostly into shaping longbaords and funshapes. He had a mentor who taught him the basics but that was a couple of years back. he has a real good knowledge of the basics. so 101 will re fresh his basics and show him some othe rthings but the master series will go past the basics and focus on more in depth detail.

both would be best, but if budget is an issue then go Master. I used it for my first board and with a lot of reading hear I managed. I’m still thinking about getting 101.
