shaping a reject blank

Hi,

I bought a blank from a supplier and he gave me a reject blank to practise on. The stringer has separated from the foam at both the nose and tail ends for an inch or two (on the reject blank). Is it feasible to use any or all of the separated portions? Or should I avoid using these sections to salvage this blank?

Thanks for any input.

I would just use some quick setting epoxy and glue the blank back onto the stringer. Careful to not break the blank when spreading the epoxy around…

Howzit boet (been wanting to use that for a while on this forum)

So glad to here you got your materials. I have shape plenty boards were the blank is starting to seperate from the stringer. It is probably not ideal but if you cant get your hands on epoxy the here is what I do. Check how your template fits into you blank. Shape the board, shape carefully around the split areas once done just take a bit of resin mixed with a bit of foam and glue it back together in those areas. Where did you get your materials from. How much for resin and how much for blank in ZAR What are you doing on the West Coast or are you living in CT

Keep well
