Not a bad idea. Wonder how the light reflecting distance is. Might not be strong enough if your stands are too far from them. I recently moved and no longer have the luxury of having an actual shaping room. Having to adapt to the garage setting . These lights might work great for me so I don’t have to set up actual light which will get in the way of the car in the garage. If you get them and try them out , please update us on how they are. Would be interested to know if they’re worth the try. I’ll do the same if I have a go at them.
Djelem-it would be nice to hear if those strips are bright enough at a distance that allows you to work comfortably around the blank.
Bluefin-My LED lights are mounted on a 1x3 board. That board has an angled piece of wood maybe 3/4" square x 15" long with a dowel stop that slides inside the silver metal tube of the stand below. If I am just shaping I take off the roller. If I am multi-tasking I just clamp the angled board to the outside of the silver tube and let the 1x3 set on top of the roller. Mine were on sale for 10 dollars each. They are also handy if you use a table saw or surface planer. Adjustable for height and very portable and stowable. I’ll try to put a picture of mine up later today.
do post
They may work.
The real question is,
Will they help to see all the lumps and bumps I see in all these photo’s?
You know whose boards I’m talking about.
HAHA!
