my wifes been on at me to stop shaping in the garage!
but shaping outside whats the deal with all the foam/dust?
do i need to get a decent vac system?
was looking at the pics of the shaping event there seemed to be foam everywhere, how do you clean it up?
its always windy here it sure wouldnt stay around for long!
when i move home from school in 3 weeks, i’ll be doing my shaping in the back yard. i got a 12x20 canopy (fully enclosed) on eBay for under $100 (including shipping), and then i’m just going to lay a tarp underneath. that should keep my mess pretty well contained, and i’ll just suck it all up with a shop vac when i’m done.
worked out of a 12x20 canopy carport for years, then the neighbors complained about noise sent the city out. Put up sound board and all was well with the world.

a friend of ours, who is a great shaper/surfer, has been shaping and glassing his boards in his backyard for years-with no cover,etc.other than the occassional knat in the glass job, his boards turn out awesome!
