Hello!
I am a fairly new member here and have to say that I have learned a great deal from the various threads that I have explored. I do, however, seem to be having a great deal of trouble locating anything on shaping / constructing the rails for a hollow wood surfboard. I have used the AKU Board Shaper software and the Hollow Surfboard Template software to design the skeleton for my board. I am all set to get started and was just wondering if anyone had any links to videos showing the construction of the rails?
I found one site that briefly shows how to make solid rails that essentially surround the ribs and spine of the board, but I think I prefer the strip-method (laying the strips of wood one at a time). Any help would be greatly appreciated! I am trying to figure out how I go from 3 inches (I’m from Maine) thick to 1/2 inch thick at the nose and tail. Again, thanks for your time!
Kindly,
Erik Johannes
