Anyone have a shaping room that they wouldn’t mind sharing or renting? I’m really wanting to start shaping much more frequently and in a much more professional space, but I don’t really know where to look…plus I think it would be really beneficial to my development if I could share some ideas/learn from others. If anyone knows of available space out there, please throw up a post, PM, or call me…it would mean the world to me.
Thanks for the heads-up. Ideally I’d really like to find something closer to town (currently live in Kaimuki area), but I guess that’s being the choosey beggar we’ve all been told we can’t be…
Maybe this will give me the excuse I’ve been looking for to move up north?

Well, Otis Schaper said he had some space to rent in their Whitmore facility. AC space for rent to part timers last time I talked to him… PM me for his number if you like…
Otis is great, and very very old. He taught me the colors and busted my balls every single day I worked for him. Did I mention that he was old? If you want his # Chris, call me.

My good friend glassed all my boards but wouldn’t do 10’ and over. Bonga Perkins told me to use Otis. I remember the first time I took a board to him I didn’t have an order form, fin layout, nothing. I just told him glass it good and put the fins where they work good! Hahahahaha!!! He let out a big sigh full of disgust and proceeded to give me a lesson in how to bring a board to a glasser. Hahahahahaha!!! I went back home and made up a cool order form and he was all stoked after that… Hehehe! “Monkey See Monkey Do” is what production in the surfboard industry is all about…
Not sure, but he looks about 105, and SMELLS funny, like an old man. He is also prone to taking his pants off at inappropriate times, but doesn’t seem to realize he’s done it.
Looks to me like he’s mid 50s, but may look older because of working with resins so much. I’ve had three boards glassed from him, all excellent work. He does great tint and pigment layups. You will pay though…

Hahahahahaha!!! Buwahahahahahahahahaha!!! I’m trying to write but… Buwahahahahahahahahahaha!!! Can I print this for him? Hehehehehe!!!
I believe Mr. Barnfield has extended his hand at renting some space inthe past..
[=Blue]Sorry guys I only have one room left out of my original 6 and the 1 is mine which I don’t lone out.
Found I could make the same profit selling a pair of slippers that I could glassing someone’s board best of all it came without all the drama. And we do know that shapers can be a tad on the dramatic side! Ha!
