Shaping room please

Hey everyone. If anyone knows of a shaping room for rent in the Los Angeles or anywhere near it pleaaaase give me a shout. I’ve been looking for sometime with no luck. I think shaper supply is awesome but kind of restricting. Anyway thanks a lot.

There is a place in Westminster called FoamEZ where they rent a shaping room and all the tools you need for 15 dollars an hour, 10 if you don’t rent a planer along with it. They have everything you need and they sell all the materials too like blanks and resin and fins and fin boxes and tints and paint and dvds and leashes, everything.

Thanks for the response. I have spent a fair amount of time there. I’m looking for a month to month deal that comes without needing to schedule time to work.

Try out Shaper Supply in Mar Vista. Recently opened and run by really good people, I’m sure if you talked to them you could figure something out.

Steve Albin will let you use a room free if you get your board glassed at his factory.  He is next door to Foam EZ in Westminster.  Aloha Glassing.  I'm pretty sure he still does this unless things have changed.  Bring your own tools and make arrangements in advance so that he can have a room available for you.  He advertised this arrangement previously on Sways, but had no takers.  He glasses for some of the best (both Poly and Epoxy) and his prices are reasonable.  Lots of glass shops will make the same arrangement.

The shop I work out of has a room available off the 91 and 5 intersection.

There is a month to month room available as well as daily.

hit me up if you want more info.

Hi Bpsrvc-

Yeah as you know our Shape Box is a multi-user environment.  We will have another shape room in the near future for full time rental but for now we can point you in the direction of some rooms in the area.  The deal with most of the monthly room rentals is… they are in glass shops and therefore they require you to get your boards glassed in their facility.  Stop on by, call, or email us and we can give you a few phone numbers.

Best of luck in your search.

Your moms driveway when they are in europe…

How about your neighbors driveway.  I made may first board on may neighbor’s driveway in 1957. It was not a thing of beauty but it worked.

Me and Booger have this dang near arrangement. Each one of these high falutten rigs has its own extension cord.  The fancy red one is mine, so yer gonna have to climb a bit to git to yer own establishment type unit.  Irekomens the blue one on level 3, and stay away from dat dang little orange one....unless yer one of them dang midget types.

$20.00 per month and you can have yer pick of the litter...but not the fancy red one. That one is mine.  One more thing Booger lives in the yeller one. Can't have that one neither.

one more thing, you can use my swimming hole fer another $5.00 per month.

But keep yer eyes off my plastic flamingo

Now ifn that were a fishin’ hole, I mite be interested!

Its got carp, red ear, and flatheads......but you got to pay by the pound on those. Them's my eat's, and you'd be taken fud out o  mouth o my underlings and what not.

Reminds me of that Brad Pit / Jason Statham flick.  With all the limies and Jamacan Nationals.  What the hell was it called??  They called shaping rooms "Caravans".

Snatch?

Snatch?

That's it!  The dog with the squeak.  Damned funny.  Brad Pitt with an acent that was completly lost on me.  Hell I was lucky if I understood Jason Statham.  The Jamaicans were closer to Americana than anyone else.  Highlarious Flick.  Pitt is "Da Man".  Lowel

Pikeys!  That's what they were.  A bunch o' Pikeys livin' in Caravans.  LOL!

a surfboard factory

a great movie set.

the opening scene could be

the second floor bike riding

from the top floor to the bottom

riding on the back wheel.

Holding auditions for that scene

would be a million hit youtube vid.
