I’am thinking of building a shaping room off of my garage. Right now I’am shaping in the garage, and outside, but would like to create a space dedicated to shaping. I would like some feed back on dimensions, length, width, height. What works for you, what dosen’t. I’am thinking something along the lines of 10’x14’, not much wider or longer due to space restrictions. I’ll be shaping long and short boards. Thanks for the help.
Ten feet wide is a good width. I would say 14ft.is minimum for longboards, keeping in mind that if you have a 10ft. board on the racks, it gives you 2ft. to walk around on each end. I think 16ft. would be more ideal. Have fun…I think we all have “the perfect shaping room” in mind. Someday I’ll build mine.
