shipping big boards to hawaii from mainland - tips?

Hey,

Trying to get some tips on shipping a big old log from the mainland to kona. Does anyone out there have experience with frieght companies and doing this kind of thing (i know its not unheard of)? Trying to avoid using an airline service cause they all seem completely out to lunch…

thanks in advance…

Not sure where your shipping from, but Matson shipping out of Long Beach, Ca is a great way to go.

thanks, have used them in the past to ship vehicles but never knew they could do smaller items like longboards and whatnot, will check em out,

I use Greyhound.

Call Pau Hana surf supply .

Checked around san diego at 2 shops . They wanted 250.00 to 300,00 to pack n ship a 9’8" log to oahu from san diego . Airlines charge anywhere from 75.00 to 150.00  as extra baggage charge when you fly with them  .

                               good luck

a real big old log may even exceed oversize baggage max.  Air Cargo is what a lot of people use.  Delta is good, Aloha still has cargo as well.

golf clubs good, surfboards bad!?!
