We all know what they are for but I’m interested in beauty as much as function. I think the stringer is an often over looked and under rated feature of the board in the ascetics sense.
I think wide stringers look beautiful but I also know how difficult they can be to work with and for me they represent a greater level of craftsmanship. Every aspect of the board should receive the same care of attentions to detail. So lets take a little time to celebrate the stringer in all its glory
Here are two of the latest Just Foam blanks that I shaped. Great stringers set-up, heaps of work, just as you said. But the result is worth it in the end:
Check out the 2 pics on page 11 of the “Post your Hull Pics Second Thread” (posted by Spencer Kellogg). Fourth post from the bottom has the most amazing multi-stringer glue up I’ve ever seen. You gotta check it out. They say he just took a long time and glued it all up by hand. Then the blank was machined at Spence’s shop.
Ozwolfe thats a nice board, the picture is great, is it just me but when you star ar the board you catch the water in the top left in the carner of your eye and I would swear it was moving (no I’ve not been smoking) its just a trick of the mind, but a cool one.
