SHOW US YOUR ROCKER MEASURE STICK

With all the shapers I know, most have found my tool to be most useful. Just taking a straight stick and taking measurements is not the same as copying the actual curve. Even if the measurements are close together, it’s not the same.  My friends with shaping machines say that this method is far more accurate. I have had some with programs on the computer make a rocker template from a board the put it up against the machine cut and have it completely different. I have sold a few of these to the machine operators and their customers. I first saw these back in the 90’s when my friend Gary Linden brought one back from Japan. I saw them and created my own version. I have sold approximately 100 of these and my customers seem to like them.

You can glue a couple of level bubbles on either end for quick easy reference. Center and level the stick then run the rods or allthread (good idea and inexpensive) down to the board. Transfer curves to template material.

Thanks BArry.

The use of casement stay’s for adjustment looks easy.

I have the workshop to try some of the idea’s given on this thread and I will walk before I run.

Your rocker gauge looks very professional (even the clean bay would suggest that).

I appreciate your comments and picture.

You have been mentioned by a few already . Your rocker stick is the rolls royce of sticks.

Thanks
