I am making a 9ft board, 18" nose 23"wide 15" tail. My question is this; Where do I set the side byte fins, the center fin is 8" and will be set 6" to 7" from the tail stock how far from the tail should the rear of side byte be, and how far from stringer should the front of fin be and how far from stringer to rear of fin be to give Toein. Thanks in advance BJ

Thanks in advance BJ BJ - Try the trailing edge of the side bites about 14 1/2 - 15" up from tail. Rather than measuring from the stringer, try the trailing edge of the side bite about 1 1/4" in from the rail edge… now measure the distance from the trailing edge to the stringer and position the forward edge of the side bite about 1/4" closer to the stringer for your toe in. That should put you within range - a long box for your center fin will really help fine tuning. A 4 3/4" -6" center fin for small days might be fun to experiment with. Good luck!
