Single fin or Widow Maker

Dear Forum,

Can an existing "Single Fin" surfboard be converted into a widow maker with fcs plugs and side bite fins?

I bet some readers would ask why would you want to distroy a beautiful single fin with additional drag....

The Board being considered is a 7'4" (SF) gun, which has performed very well in home waves of size.

Doing Java and thought the board may benefit from some extra holding power.

I have a tri fin mal which surfs much better as a single fin than the tri set up.

But I've never used a mal in waves of consequence.

Appreciate your comments

Yes.

In that size range, I would just go with with the single.

That being said, if you are intent on adding fins, I would

go with the following:  Center fin = 6"  Side bites = 3.5" base.

If you are surfing a general Indo wave, the single should

be just fine, especially if you are tuned in to the board.  If

the waves are a dredging reef, then I would prefer the widow

maker set-up.  Just my 2C but "been there, done that"!!!

Interested to know what you came up with!
