Im gonna start shaping surfboards with a buddy, the first one i want is a 6’6’’ single fin, retro style, i wanna model it after a board i have by bruce jones, thats a little bit bigger and thicker. Any ideas on dimmensions or designs?
I just recently a board (my first actually) like that for myself. I did it 6’6" x 20 x 12" (nose) x 13" (tail) x 2.5" (thick). The outline is pretty much a lift from Rusty’s “Wayback” model and I thinned the nose out a bit and upped the rocker slightly. I’ve been riding it with a 8.5" single fin and I’ve very pleased with it. Use the link for a few pics if you’re interested. If you’d like I can send you an Illustrator file for the outline. What kind of fin is that? I like the overall shape, and does it flex?
