Aloha all, I am searching for two things: 1. Recommendations of a world class single fin shaper. I am in search of a single fin that will help me experience new sensations on a wave – not sure if I want an egg or a semi-gun, but I am planning on surfing J Bay this summer and would like to bring a single or two with me. I am experienced on singles, twins, and thrusters, and seek a shaper with whom I can work to create the perfect Supertubes machine. 2. Any info on how I can contact Dave Parmenter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! Aloha, Kit

Dave Parmenter is slated to be featured in the next (February) issue of The Surfer`s Journal. “The backyard revolution was arguably the most important tectonic shift ever to occur in modern surfing history. The very idea that an enthusiastic surfer could build, in a backyard shed or garage, a better riding board than any put out by the major manufacturers, is earth-shaking when you really consider it. Think about how fast things progressed from ?68 to ?74- this advancement sure as hell didn?t come from the stuck-in-the-mud majors. Anything other than this sort of cutting-edge, surfer-elite-led progression is just mindless, lumbering overhead and a smokescreen of unsubstantiated claims made by cigar chomping “innovators” who nurse the fads and fancies from high-rent industrial condos, sweaty-assed with fear that a backyard “skunkworks” will lead the buying public away from their stockpiled inventory of aquatic Pintos and Pacers- and they won?t be able to make the payments on their bass boats, Range Rovers and golf course memberships.” Dave Parmenter http://www.surfline.com/surfaz/foil.cfm
Last time I was there, a good number of Parmenter boards were for sale at the Hale Nalu surf shop on the west side of Oahu, 808 696-5897. If you call them they might be able to put you in contact.
Try Moondoggies in SLO/Pismo Beach, Ca. He still has a room on in SLO. If you email me I have his contact info. D-
Would you please get in touch with me? The e-mail I sent to aerospace address recently was bounced back.
Ask Tyler out of El Segundo. He’s the man on singles. He rips on them down in Fiji 2.
Rich Pavel for single fins—especially at J-Bay. The Greenroom: 619.226.1311
Liddle, Paul Gross, Marc Andreini, Bob Duncan-these are the people who KNOW and BUILD single fins that rip…
ps-and there’s this really obscure guy who rips and can build singl fins-Tim Bowler-living way up north…
Dave Jorgenson, I would greatly appreciate Parmenter’s contact info, as I would like to contact him via mail (electronic or USPS) and open up a discourse about building the ideal point break board. I can be reached at Mike Miller, any info on Marc Andreini would be greatly appreciated! Aloha, Kit
Sorry, that is Matt Miller. Any Andreini info would be great! Aloha, Kit
