This is starting to sound like that Russian girlfriend of mine and our litte internet "trist". Nice pictures though. Couldn't buy her ticket to Seattle thru Pay-Pal. When she asked me to wire the cash to some Russian village I knew I was almost had. Flockin' Russians.
At first I thought this was cool and it is and I thought I’d trust Everysurfer for such a grab.
But things are not always what they seem, someones sniffer wasnt working, nor was this offer adequately explained.
I bought an item from the Ukraine off Ebay recently, but they had tons of positive feedback and their business was in a certain niche, just arrived today, but I was sweating it a bit.
Howzit everysurfer, I think ebay has a new policy for warranting rip offs, at least that was what I saw the other day and I think it replaces paypals rip off policy.Aloha,Kokua
I realize that you don’t know me, nor have I done anything to earn your trust, but to anyone who sent me a P.M. and asked, I sent a link to the offer ebay sent me. I really had no dog in this hunt.
It was a mutual call off by myself, and the Swaylocks member who wanted it. It wasn’t until the paypal payment was rejected by the seller (even though it was advertised as pay pal payment) that the red flags went up. That was when all involved agreed to stop.
Again, I wasn’t getting anything out of this, just trying to help the community.
My kid is the family internet expert, and he said that there is a lot of scamming going on there.
That really makes me doubt Meg Whitman running for Governor of California. If she can’t do anything about keeping her own company clean of this stuff, what’s she going to do about California.
Howzit eversurfer, I wason ebay the other day looking at LCD TV's and that's when I saw the thing about ebay now doing the rip off guarantee that paypal used to do. It was a protection policy and if you got ripped off you were covered as long as you used Paypal but I guess ebay has taken over now. I know I got ripped off years ago and Paypal took care of it and I got y money back, plus once a person does rip you off on ebay they are banned from the site and you should always check the sellers rating.Aloha,Kokua
Howzit Kokua old buddy. i sell furniture on ebay. It’s gotten to be where there is so much buyers protection that sellers like me are getting scammed left and right. I am sorry to hear about the planer deal though. I don’t think anyone here on Swaylocks meant any harm. The dude was just trying to be nice and give the Bro’s a heads up.
Howzit Mr.Clean, Are the buyers complaining about the sellers ? Next thing there will be sellers insurance, sounds like he buyers are turning into the rip offs. Don't the buyers have to prove they were ripped off? The time I got ripped off I didn't use Paypal but sent a postal money order and there was no way to cacel it. I got in touch with the better business in the state and they sent so much paperwork to fill out I just said to heck with it since it was only $16. Haven't bught anything from Ebay in about a year and a half but other than the 1 time I have had no problems, sorry to hear that you are having problems.Aloha,Kokua
Howzit Kokua…Ebay just has made it hard on honest sellers. The scammers have messed the place up plus they want to be the new Amazon. I sell furniture which is risky as hell and it’s usually several hundred dollars at least. it’s not hard for someone to say “it’s all scratched up” and file a paypal claim. The sight is rampant with non paying bidders as there is no real “punishment” for them anymore since negative feedback is no longer possible. Ahh…like everything. it was fun while it lasted. I still buy a good bit of stuff though. Good deals still pop up. I bought a $1200 HVLP Turbine spray unit for $130 not long ago.
Howzit Mr.Clean, I am sorry to hear that but it would seem to me that the buyer would have to prove about the scratches and pictures would be the only way, are the buyers scratching the furniture and sending pictures because that would be fraud on their part but I can see how it would be hard to prove and why ruin good furniture and then send it back. Now if ebay continues to treat sellers this way the sellers will stop using the website and there goes ebay down the tube and I don't think Amazon is worried about them being competetion. If ebay goes down then some one will fill their shoes and I know that there are already other bidding websites out there, they just aren't as well known as ebay. Like I told everysurfer, I always check a sellers sales rating before doing any business with them and only do buiness with positive rated sellers. I would love to see some of your work and do you have any on ebay these days? the other thing about Amazon is they are not an auction site but strictly a sales only site with new and used items and with a lot of free shipping where ebay sellers sometimes make up for the loss money on sales by charging big money for shipping. I know I stay away from those that charge way to much for shipping and a lot of bidders don't even check the shipping charges, but when they see how much it cost for the shipping it blows their minds. Maybe there is a furniture auction site out there just wating for you to find it. I have wanted to buy from Amazon many times only to find they wouldn't ship to Hawaii but now I am on the mainland and can take advantage of the free shipping. Aloha,Kokua
