Skil 100 rebuild

Is there anyone that does quality restorations for the Skil 100 7.5 ?

Calling PeteC, calling PeteC !

Riomar, sent you a PM.

I’ve looked at the archives on the skil 100 and couldnt find my answer. I have a skil 100 and have changed the brushes twice now and it only lasts about one board and starts to sound like the brushes need to be replaced. Im not sure if the motor is just worn out or something else. This thing is in superb condition. It was my grandfathers and he passed it to my father and i stumbled across it in his garage and about shit myself when I realized what it was. Of course I begged to keep it. So hell ya a free skil 100. Hoping its not the motor. Any suggestions?

Get that thing into the hands of PeteC, Pete Casica, of Casica Engineering.    Send a PM to Pete, and make the connection.    It is worth a complete rehab.

How many screamin’, whining power tools have you been around?  Compared to most tools a Skil always sounds like its got  a bearing going out or maybe to someone who wouldn’t know better brushes gone.  If you pull the brushes you can see whether or not they are still good.  Send it to Pete.  It’s worth it and in my opinion he doesn’t charge enough,  Lowel
