Skil 100 Score!

Found a Skil 100 7.5 amp planer for $50.00. I'm pretty stocked with the find seems in very good condition

Wow if this machine was used more then 30 days i would be surprised. The belt and the bushings look new.   The fan blades are still shiny. The knives are nicked up a bit might have to replace them. Other then some surface corrosion from sitting it  More photos are attached.

It's almost a sin to put this machine in the hands of such a rank  amateur.

Great find.  I would definately get a backup belt to keep on hand.  When I got mine it was in like new condition but the belt broke on about the 4th board I shaped with it.  Nothing more frustrating than haveing a belt go half way thru a shape and not having a replacement belt on hand.  Trust me.

Thanks Mako I will start looking for one. Rubber does not seem to hold up over the long run any suggestions on where to find a new belt?

Ebay sometimes has parts for the skil 100.

Believe it or not I got my belt from Sears.  You can order it from them on-line and have it shipped to your house or you can avoid the shipping and have it shipped to your local store.    The part number is 2610010625 and the price was $21.06   Better than going the eBay route.

Thanks Mako, I have a sears credit for $40.00 a little pocket change would get me two spare belts.
