Skil 100 stripped pulley screw

Did you get the bearings off?

I did not. The pullers I want are in Europe and they are about $150 or so, which includes the shipping. A bit pricey but I will pull the trigger….eventually.

Did you end up finding a reasonably priced WC87037 bearing? Did you end up going contact or non-contact bearings for the other three bearings?

I bought mine from eurton electric. Shaper Supply has them as well. McMaster carr may have them. I’m not sure what you mean by contact or non-contact bearings sorry.

I’m not sure where you’re located, but I bought my puller from AutoZone. I’m pretty sure this is the one.

Thanks for the Autozone puller link.

Contact vs. non-contact bearings, I am referring to contact or non-contact seals. Each manufacturer has different nomenclature for their bearings and seals. Example, an SKF 629 bearing: 629-2RS (both sides are rubber CONTACT seals. 629-2RSH (both sides are heavy-duty rubber CONTACT seals, usual with hydrogenated NBR).

629-2RZ (both side are rubber NON–CONTACT seals). 629-2RSL (both sides are rubber low FRICTION seals; sometimes referred to as low CONTACT seals.

Oh, got it. Thanks for letting me know what that means. I’m not sure which I got. I got mine from eurton electric

How is your Skil 100 running now after the refurbishment? Any latest pics?

She purrs like a kitten. I also got the Rock and Sea Garage vacuum quick lock and slinky hose.
