Skil Planer Parts

Hey Everyone, I’ve not posted in forever due to overwhelming work with school and work, but needed to reach out for some help. I’ve just had the luck of purchasing a Skil 676 planer (The Skil 100 with a longer base essentially) for 50 bucks. The thing seems solid but want to prepare for parts and what not. Does anyone have a good resource for parts for these old planers? Also, for anyone looking for a Skil 100, I found on for sale on ebay for only 500 bills and it ends today. Just thought I’d pass the link along. Thanks for any help and hopefully I’ll be back to posting soon. Christian http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3260339386&category=42283

Even though Shill no longer makes the #100, I think they still stock parts for them. I would call Skill and find out if they also stock parts for the others. The long shoe is good, I still have my 100 with the long shoe. When the short board came in in the late 60’s, everyone cut it off so it would fit into the increased nose rocker, but it made them less accurate for shaping longboards. Regards, PK

Less accurate shapers

Post a pick of the Skil 676. I think you should cut the shoe, you don’t need it for accuracy. The weight of the planer is enough to keep it flush on the foam. The amount of wieght you take off the tail plate or the front shoe isn’t significant.
