I’ve just listed a Skill 100 on Ebay. Item # 2017304890. I can’t tell you the exact price, but for the cost of a new Harbour and some change, it could be yours. Good luck. I will shape no more, forever…
they have been on there a lot lately. i guess people are realizing that they are worth some good $$ for a soulfull shaper. keep 'em coming…
John,I think the price on Ebay is incorrect? You need to check it out!Herb.
John,I think the price on Ebay is incorrect? You need to check it > out!Herb. Man, Ebay is hard to use. I must of tried 20x to list the planer around a grand, but the computer would not let me do it. So my friend said to try and start the bid out small and put a sellers reserve for around a thousand, and that’s what I finally ended up doing after 3 days of trying. So I really don’t mind saying that Ebay is frustrating and hard to use. Oh well. Thanks for your reply. Johnny

After reading you post , one word comes to mind. Greed. Greed? So if I wanted you to make me a board at $20 over your cost but you refused, saying the cost was $350, would I have the right to say that you were greedy also? One word comes to mind. Jealous. Hustle Bro and you’ll find one…
Greed? So if I wanted you to make me a board at $20 over your cost but you > refused, saying the cost was $350, would I have the right to say that you > were greedy also?>>> One word comes to mind. Jealous.>>> Hustle Bro and you’ll find one… The guys hustling for a Skil, never had one, just have heard the lore of famous wizards, like Merlin. Majic boards from the Majic Machine, mystical foils, like Excaliber, only to be used by the pure of heart. You have all heard the tale of the singing planer haven’t you?
E.P. THE GOING RATE FOR A HAIRCUT-100 IN ORIGINAL CONDITION(NOT REBUILT)80%-100%= 1200.00 to 2500.00.What John is asking for is a fair price in todays open market.Herb…even the rebuilds are getting 900.00-1200.00 ,and alot of them are the 5.5 ampies ,not the 7.5s(check out Bruce Jones website under,“shaping tools”). I still prefer the Clark toy planer.

So I will throw this out there: I will be more than happy to do an even trade for a classic long board. Preferably a 10’ with a thick classic rolled bottom. Life just kind of crept up on me(girlfriend, job, student loans, overtime) and I don’t have the time to do what I once was able. But I do still like to surf. You can e-mail me at or call me at 727-522-9740. Johnny
Skil 100’s are highly over rated. This all started from the John Carper shaping video. He said that they can go up to $2,000 for one. That is bull shit. Those damn planers are not worth more than $300, maybe $350. Sad thing is people are stupid enough to pay like $600-$1300. I’ve watched them go on ebay. Those planers are every where you just have to find them, but when people do they go ot ebay and sell them for a grand because they know people are stupid enough to pay that. I don’t blame ya. Need to stop hording those planers and let people have them that need them, not have 10 of them to keep from people. If you don’t use them they are no use to you. So I will continue to search by myself for ONE(1) Skil 100 because thats all I need.
Isn’t it ironic that the most coveted tool in the industry is called skill…ooops! I mean Skil? Do you need more than one? If for no other better reason, you can use #2 as a back-up or parts supply for #1.

One of the best power planes available , new, is in the $500.00 range. Or, one might be enticed to indulged into buying a broken one w/o parts for double what it’s worth. It’s all relative, I can say it’s a rip, and some others say it’s a bargain. E-bay opens you up the market to all the suckers who are driven buy such forces. If you really need one , fork over the cash, but it seems ,really, that a $550.00 longboard will get you one . Weird deal! I have some land in Lancaster for sale. It’s only one to six hours from Seal Beach. What a deal!
I owned a few cars in my time including a 70 chevy 454 SS,which I bought for $2,500.00 in 1975.It’s now worth about $50,000.00.I also owned a 1968 428 SCJ FASTBACK MUSTANG,that I bought for$50.00 in 1973(it had 4 flat tires,and a dead battery).It’s now worth about $90,000.00.RIP-OFF OR NOT E.P. ,THAT’S REALITY.Just like the price of a haircut-100.Herb.

See, it’s all relative. You might think those cars , or planners, are worth the big dough , but really there just appliances. Some old guy over in the Nevada desert might say , Boy, those guys that live down there in L.A. are sure nuts. Come to think of it, I know they do. I’ll trade you my Skil 100 for your Mustang. [smile] Ha Ha real funny. ps - Do you really pay $100.00 for a hair cut? I just payed $13.50 for one. Problem is I look like a squirrel.

…another squirrel here. Some good advice, from personal experience. Be careful crossing the street.
Herb, Yeah! Ive noticed that increased dust in the air seems to stimulate increased hair growth... in the ears and nose! But, I
m hopeful if I keep throwing handfuls into the air over my head Ill have good results on top, sooner or later. Anyone else notice the effects of dust and hair growth? We might be onto something here with all the extra foam and fiberglass dust we create... well, maybe not the fiberglass dust. We
d have to sell an anti-itch cream with that stuff. Dale
HEY! I’ll cross how and when I feel like it, OK Mister Noodle?>>> …another squirrel here.>>> Some good advice, from personal experience. Be careful crossing the > street. http://www.angelfire.com/pop/mahal26/images/pics25.jpg
