I would like to build one of these in Pennsylvania somewhere near Philadelphia. We would then close all bridges into New Jersey.
Seriously though. That looks like a lot of fun. Pretty much the ideal wave for people that can actually surf. On the flip side, it doesn’t look like an easy wave for beginners so that could be a hinderance to financial success. Perhaps they slow it down into a mushburger for regular people.
Wave looks SICK. BUT, they have the same operational issues of Wavegarden, which is capacity/throughput (not enough waves per minute) and what happens if the mechanism breaks (drain and fix; big time/money loss). Wave is great but biz-model with this tech doesn’t pencil.
I would love to stuff these bones into that fresh water pearl!
One way to disperse the crowds… Should get coca cola to sponser and say it’s filled with cola
My take…
At first a glimmer of development potential
Well forget about it…
I see one of two things
Could be Mr. K. is packin’ some weight
Or…
Fresh water…
Let’s not be fooled
Mr. K has it down to a knats ass…
charge ten waves to my room number
thats room 1377…
Mr. Breachcort you realize ,of course
there are no refunds or do overs for
missed waves or fall offs.
sign this form ,and be sure wether
you want the razor reef inside section
or the tethered bubble puff plastic sand bar.
With the razor reef option you automaticly
are at ten to one odds on the lounge gaming
thereby one made wave pays for your
ten waves. The house reserves the right to
vary the angle and speed on waves
two through ten to stimulate betting
of the other guests.
thank you for surfing
our secret spot casino.
surfing professionally will
leave the natural ocean
to the old paradimes
to cash in on the real money
where riders will be asked to ride
exact duplicate waves.
…ambrose…
surfers once upon a time …
Coral reef destruction. Constructed coral reefs.
Manufactured snow. Manufactured waves.
Design your surfboard. Design your wave.
Surfboard evolution. Wave evolution.
Maybe SlaterSurf will be solar powered, recycled and sold as green.
…
Reminds me of one of those mechanical bulls you would find in a cowboy bar.
I’d love to give it a go.
I won’t be stung by a jellyfish? or bit by a shark?
Kelly and I can surf way after dark.
Just how I like it, solid head high
and reduces the chances that I could die.
Always predictible, long rides on glass
An affront to the purists, many will pass.
My skills will improve, I’ll excell in the class.
Will I use this wavepool ?
You bet your sweet ass !!

Question remains, can you afford the wave-ride ticket?
Cool technology. Would I try it? Sure.
We had a small ski boat when I was in my late teens and early 20s. My brother, friends and I would take turns driving the boat so everybody would get equal time water skiing. I had been surfing for a while by then. After one or two ski runs, I would give up my turns and drive the boat for the rest of the trip. Water skiing was monotonous and droning – driving the boat was more entertaining.
That looks like a lot of fun. I’m amazed at how good the wave is. The others I have seen I wouldn’t pay 2 nickels to surf. Mike
Curmudgeon here.
How rediculous!!! Sure, it looks like a fun wave, but how much energy is used to run the pumps to get that size wave going? One day everybody is all green and global climate change, and the next day we are makeing a mess of the planet just for a 15 second ride!
Yes e-surfer. making a mess of the planet 15 seconds at a time… not sure of you are being funny or serious?
I want one and will hopefully someday have one.
But I want to build my own. Wavelocks.com???
I’ve never seen real wave as perfect as that. I’ll prob never surf a “real” wave as good as in my life but There’s something about the psychedelic experience of gliding on a natural phenomenon that’s irreplaceable. Or maybe I’m just jealous deep down.
It looks offshore but I wonder if it’s still effected by the winds? What if it was blasting onshore would it chop up the face? Maybe shut down the barrel a bit?
I’m sure, for an extra fee, they’ll fire up the offshore wind fans for an enhanced surf experience. How could they not?
I’m dissapointed in how little I can find about the mechanism used.
Looks very similar to wavegarden, does anyone know?
What’s up with the black swamp water? Looks like alligator and water-snake habitat. Maybe they plan to clean it up.
hans looks like a boat wake so most likely some sort of underwater plow mimicking a boat hull - i am sure the design specifics will be held secret. have had fun ‘surfing’ these kind of waves in the intracoastal waterway when big fishing boats cruise through at low tide…never seen one nearly as big as this though!

Funny and serious at the same time. Last week, the world got together to talk about climate change. Two degrees Celsius is going to flood the world. Wind and solar power to replace burning fossil fuel. Sell your car, and ride a bike.
Last I checked, the wind did a fine job of making waves. How many gallons of diesel were burned to dig that hole in the the ground. How much fuel is used for each wave?
Sure, sometimes it’s flat. Go find something else to do. Go swim. Ride a bike. Spend time with your kids.
