That looks more like a twinzer/supercharger setup. I think canard is the other way around, with big fronts, and smaller, more upright duck bill shaped rears.
BTW the setup you have looks like tonnes of fun. My fave setup is pretty similar to yours.
what about a canard type set up with upright fronts and raked rears…?
The little twinzer fins act's like a canard.
been doing that for awhile now.

(from …‘JOURNEY OF A QUAD’ , by ‘Oldy’ [Nathan Oldfield …filmmaker , teacher , dad] )
From, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canard_(aeronautics)
“In aeronautics, canard (French for “duck”) is an airframe configuration of fixed-wing aircraft in which the forward surface is smaller than the rearward, the former being known as the “canard”, while the latter is the main wing.”
well... THERE ya go , eh ?!
... we stand corrected ....
..... by a computer site
How times have changed ...
THANKS for bringing that to our attention , mr. gadget !!
now , "do surfers / surfboards have it backwards then ?!" ...is the question ....
Windsurfer's did not. They called a leading small fin a canard fin. Helped in spin out's.
"do surfers / surfboards have it backwards then ?!" ...is the question ....
No.
learn something new everyday!. Whatever its called, im a big fan of the setup
what about a canard type set up with upright fronts and raked rears....?
.....yep , this was FUN !!
Oooooh… Handbags at dawn Chipfish!! LOL
Err… no, don’t think so, sounds the same to me.
Small front fin, big rear? (like the pics Herb and LSD posted)
Like the Saab Viggen,
Beery’s setup (big fronts, and smaller, more upright duck bill shaped rears) sounds more like a speed-dialer.
My apologies, didn’t realise folk called the speed dailer type setup canards, I’ve always thought of the twinzer style as a canard setup.
(every day’s a school day)
Humblest apologies for commiting the henious sin of referencing Wikipedia… I’m sure I will go straight to hell.
haha handbags ... sounds nice ...
do you prefer a big one up front , and smaller ones in the rear , mate ??
cheers gadgey !
Oooh… Matron!
I like it **all **ways big boy.
My favourite of recent years is a six fin setup; small canted canard fin in front of a bigger keel fin, with a smaller upright trailing fin.
