Howzit james, The Lolly brothers were my neighbors when I lived on Oahu's North Shore on Ke Iki Rd from 70 to 73 then moved to Kauai. Good surfers and liked big waves and surfed a lot of godd sized Log Cabins with them.It seems that FaceBook attracts a lot of people and you might start there if they are still alive and yes they were hell raisers.Aloha,Kokua
ya,
got that from facebook or wait, from someone here????
oh, no it was facebook.
THEY WHERE a bad example for me,
i so lucky that i not in prison like carl fasi, ed holland and all the people i know through the years and hung out with and misbehaved
I too recently found out that Ryan Dotson is alive and well, after hearing all kinds of rumours for the last 30 something years. One of the first mini guns I ever laid eyes on was on of his creations. Compared to what we were riding, huge dinged up Hobie's and Wardy's, this short (8 foot was short back then) tear drop pintail with a skinny swept back fin, looked like it nothing our gremmie eyes had ever seen. I recall seeing a lot of his boards in Surfline Hawaii up until '71 or '72 then he kind of disappeared. As for the Lolley bros. I'm almost sure that one of them is/was working for the E.K. Fernandez carnival here on Oahu.
Howzit james,They were my next door neighbors and I surfed with them but working in town at night and living on the North shore didn't leave a lot of time to party or hang with them much so our friendship was a casual one at best. Due to those circumstances I didn't really have time to get in trouble hanging with them.In my world day time was for surfing and night time was for work and the last year on Oahu I worked 6 nights a week at the Black Angus on Kuhio, plus there was the 1 hrs drive both ways to consider but I wouldn't trade those days for anything,Lot sof money and lots of uncrowded waves= Paradise. It's so nice to bring those memories to the front of the forefront and think about life in the easy days. We paid $225 a onth for a 2 bdrm house on the beach( still there 0 with utilies included. My room mate and I made that much in one night. Aloha.Kokua
