Recently I responded to a question regarding shipping of surfboards on airplanes and mentioned that golf clubs went for free. Apparently that is changing… “We’re making changes that allow customers to buy products and services that are important to them and eliminate ones that are not,” says Continental spokesman Rahsaan Johnson. But after years of cutbacks in coach, airlines seem like they’re having to dig to find services they can eliminate or raise the price on. Cocktails that had been free on transatlantic flights now cost $4. Transporting golf clubs costs extra on most airlines now, including $80 on Continental.
