Our little 5’5 demo fishy is heading to the north shore for the winter early next week, she’s had a great run over here and is gonna get put through it’s paces over there for sure!
Here are photos of her last SB session before the voyage, cant thank Morgan from Bogus Media enough for the help, and Trevor Gordon for piloting oh so well…these kids have been KILLING it lately, keep your eyes on them!
on to the photos; vrooooom!
(my new wallpaper)
after countless sessions and almost 3 months in the water…still shiny new

I cant thank these guys enough, all kinds of stoke floatin’ around the water lately.
1/8" Paulownia skins, solid rails, over foam…more info @ www.timberlinesurf.com if youre curious, ill have a bit more time later to explain if need be!
those kinds of wood composite sandwhich boards have been made and ridden here on the northshore for the past decade.
Just google Charles Price (CMP) of SurfGearHawaii. Other than the paulownia versus balsa/obeche its nothing unusual for the area. And before that it was Gary Young in the 1970’s. Northshore’s “Turtle” has been riding his Gary Young for years up there, just sold his a year ago on Craigslist.
Guess i put the wrong word in when i wrote the title, sorry guys; it was meant to be light hearted but thats pretty hard to type.
never said we were doing anything revolutionary though,
just wanted to post some stoke photos of alternative boards being surfed and give a thanks to some friends.
compsand is the closest term to what were doing, but i dont feel right using their word because we dont really follow their procedures. but yes id say that its pretty close to the same thing if you want to put a term on it.
is Ben’s absence taking all the good photo vibes out of this place?
thanks for sharing the stoke! don’t worry about the negative comments. the broken records of sways have written programs that automaticaly respond to threads such as these… “it ain’t wood”, “bla bla did it frirst”, “surftechs arn’t surfboards”, “epoxy doesn’t work right”. building them, riding them and passing along the stoke is what sways is all about!!! more pics please!!!

They are only $1200.00 US dollars???
Between you guys and Roy that will be 18 feet 5 inches of wood dominating the NS this winter.
nothing negative meant just that it wasn’t going to new and “hot” to the folks up there. You’re doing some neat stuff as I’ve been been following your work more at skudferbb.
Just a word of caution no mater what boards snap daily in the country its something you just have to expect. get some good photos before

id love to find the breaking point of these things, breaking one is to me the best way to figure out how to make them better!

Wouldn’t a 5’-5" be harder to break though, given it likely won’t see much Pipe action? I know the power’s there to do it at other breaks as well, but the odds are in the little guy’s favor!
Ryan, you suck and you’re boards are shit and unoriginal, how dare you post photos of your work. And please, please, please drop the just-stoked-to-be-making-boards attitude…you’re bringing everyone down with your stoke.
Oh, and you should stop posting pix of people surfing rincon, people might figure out where it is.
