a perfect balance and homogenius mix of culture

from a far flung geography or three

a meeting not soon forgotten

not a yoou missed it Nyaah nyaah but an all inclusive

well meant conflaburation of new and old friends and aquaintences

present and absent, living and rememberd in word and thought

…aloha from waipouli…ambrose…

Howzit Ambrose, Keith and I got together yesterday for a while for lunch and then back to my house so he could see some of my work. Glad to hear that the girl who won keiths board needed one. Did Proneman tell you his wife and I attended the same high school and she was only a year behind me. Also heard that Mitch was able to talk with some fellow Georgians. Who is going to post the raffle winners? Aloha,Kokua

Pleasantly tired.

Pleasantly overindulgently filled with food made by caring hands.

Learned I still hate eggplant, 'though well-prepared by a new and hopeful friend.

Learned I can’t cut apples bologna style, although the concept still intrigues me, if it would only make apples taste like bologna.

Learned I liked the people from Swaylocks more after I met them, than before I had met them in person, which is a rare fine thing.

The world was changed enough, a difference was made.

What’s the plan? I propose a global Swaylocks party, online… I’ll take the morning or night shift first time. Just sign in and spew! Let’s see “them” try to make sense of that post in the future!

Daddio, did you become conscious again? Wish you had been here.

I don’t know anything about no stinking conscious, when you’re manning the pumps in the heart of the machine… was that voice real or only a… ?

Still trying to be a human being who “makes a difference” by thought and deed.

Glad to hear it (the voice, too).

ambrose …its a long long time from may to december

and the days grow short when we reach september…

Sorry to set you straight on this one master - But technically it starts at the end of June… Other than that - praises be… I’m gonna put in the RedX the old fashioned way. Made bottom and top templates, gonna lam the deck tonight. That stinking jig was missing parts, the plate was the wrong size, the bit fit not my router… Old school rules - gotta know how to use the tools and materials, and you are a fine teacher… I saw tj latest and it is very nice. I hope to have photographic evidence some day. Either way I’ll let you know. The “rocker table” -carbon fiber, pressure lame, to put rocker in the flat sheet worked out great, glassing the full lenght “deep” channle was a bit of work, but the sweet RR epoxy gave me all the time I needed. Ok peace - Taylor

The song’s the thing. Enjoy the summer while it lasts, and take some poetic license with life itself.

September Song

(Kurt Weill/Maxwell Anderson)

For it’s a long, long time

from May to December

And the days grow short

when you reach September

And the Autumn weather

Turns the leaves to flame

And I haven’t got time

For the waiting game

And the days dwindle down

to a precious few

September November

And these few precious days

I’d spend with you

These golden days

I’d spend with you

When you meet with the young man early in Spring

They court you in song and rhyme

They woo you with words and a clover ring

But if you examine the goods they bring

They have little to offer but the songs they sing

And a plentiful waste of time of day

A plentiful waste of time

We’re talking about soul?

You gotta ride hard and long if you’re only circling with one wagon…

There was a boy

A very strange enchanted boy

They say he wandered very far, very far

Over land and sea

A little shy and sad of eye

But very wise was he

And then one day

A magic day he passed my way

And while we spoke of many things

Fools and kings

This he said to me

"The greatest thing you’ll ever learn

Is just to love and be loved in return"

"The greatest thing you’ll ever learn

Is just to love and be loved in return"

Nature Boy

:artist: Nat King Cole

-from his “The Greatest Of Nat King Cole” LP-Capitol SLB-6803

Just how fast do you want these repetitions to occur?

I distinctly thought I heard the master exclaim, “Siesta!”

"Please don’t say manana

if you don’t mean it."

-J. Buffett

True soulful statement if ever there was one…

Shhhh,

What if the Holy You Know What was written in reverse by some idiots with learning disabilities?

Hmmm… from chaos WE’RE responsible for making this rock into the Garden that was designed by the creator but we were just looking at the holographic plans upside down and backwards, and besides it was time to knock off so better take it home and the wife just called on the cell phone and said bring some moo juice home for the morning meal of Cheerios and Apple slices, my, my - Eve you look positively devilish in that snakeskin sleeper…

What do you mean I’m fired with only a week to copy the plan?

Where’s my resume?

Why do we always feel left behind, or is that part of the design?

dig the picture o’ the guy that wrote ‘‘Nature Boy’’

did 'e surf

…ambrose…

one of a generation shaped by popular music of the 30’s 40’s 50’s…60’s

I still have some sand from Hanalei Bay embedded in the wax of my board. I am going to leave it there for a while.

What does it all mean Mr. Natural?

It don’t mean shit.

Hey Ambrose,

Very sharp, I left that guys name off my post for a reason. But to retie the theme of we make the difference back in, I stayed up all night working on a friends promotional CD cover art. He’s a Country singer, who is opening for Jay Leno this weekend. He was a pro baseball player, athletic kinda person and is interested in surfing cause of magazines and pictures he sees when he visits me. You can bet I used some colors from the sea and waves that will be handed to spark each persons memory lapse. Is that a Cool Wave of Color? or just another country bumkin (pumpkin)? All that is global starts with the carriers at the local.

Nat King Cole was my father’s favorite artist and the Nature Boy lyrics, “The greatest thing you’ll ever learn Is just to love and be loved in return” kick ass!

What if there wasn’t any water on this planet when it was first formed in the cosmos? I surf therefore I am? It’s the water. When the shaman dances on the Russian plains in his suit made of spoons, which generation of surfers is he dancing for? We are the particle and we are the wave. Just cause there is no water wave on this spot where I dance, don’t mean that will always be so…

We do it for the 1 percent that are awake… to the rest, it’s all a dream.

"Down the road to Massachusetts driving through the night

I thought I saw Jack Kennedy hitchhiking by a light

I hit the brakes - backed up slow, and Kennedy got in

I said, "It’s nice to see you lookin’ back in shape again

Correct me if I’m wrong but I believe they gunned you down"

He just shook his head and looked off sadly with a frown

Said, "bullets are like waves, they only rearrange the sand

History turns upon the tides and not the deeds of man"

-Robert Hunter

Life can be a bit of a puzzlement. Sometimes you feel like you are being left behind when in fact you may be way out in front of the crowd. You still feel alone in the moment. Like the song lyric quoted above, which I’ve pondered way more than I probably should, sometimes one context is the correct one, and sometimes the other. Storms come off the oceans and dump rain and snow, which eventually flow down creeks into rivers and back into the sea. You can, in various manners, surf it all the way through the cycle if you have the right equipment. Handy hint: travel light.

Cell division?

Love is a brain wave that engulfs the heart and knots the stomach so you’re divided in two… is it just a symbolic gesture of the organism like riding a wave?

I wish I could say what I wanted, like you and ambrose, I seem to only sputter and spew, and appear to be only half-conscious to others I hold with high personal regard. Feel the tide, and now your history turns the tides quote, beautiful. And everyone else who contributes, so concise, where I’m scattered. Party crasher, but wait, my friend and I would hitch-hike down to the beach, with only a towel and some flippers. Those were the times that I could clearly feel who was the surfer and who was the ocean, and there was my answer, it’s not the meat, it’s the motion…

Quote: “travel light”

Good advice.

Light is a wave and a particle.

Everybody is a wave and a particle. Every body makes a difference, with every wave of desire.

Are the 1% who are awake subjectively tuned and aware of both states of being at the same time? Are they the ones who experience wakefulness as just another slipstream dream? To be fully conscious of only one thing eliminates the ability to perceive other things. Knowing exactly what you want limits the possibilities. We meet at a particular point of mutual consciousness intermittently, and then we are again voluntary prisoners in the transparent walls of the dungeons of our selves. Just because you close your eyes doesn’t mean you’re invisible. Peek a boo.

See you on the next wave.

See what old songs do to me? Old songs for old dreamers who are still young at heart. Good night Jimmy D wherever you are. Cha cha cha.
