Shaped this thismorning from a 6’3"B southcoast foam shortboard blank, its for a female freind who asked me to shape her “something like a lost couch potato”
Having only seeing pictures of one on the net and reading about the features, this is where i ended up…
Dims are 5’3" x 19 5/8" x 2 5/8"
I’l probably glass it next week or something.
She wants it set up as a quad so i am still kind of researching the fin placement.
I had trouble with the black filler/sanding coat, it seemed like wax was getting stuck in thr resin and not rising, do i got sticky spots that clogged my pad, but only in fist size as areas…
It was only happening when I was using the black pigment though, tried warming everything but didnt seem to help. Thank f#$ k its over.
Looking good! I’m currently working on a 5’ 8" and had the same issues with the black, not the first time either, although i’m using epoxy! Really like the colours. Are the pink/green colours luminous? When you settle on quad position, could you please share as mine will be a quad also & it’s the smallest board i’ve done! More trials & errors for me no doubt. Great work… Slanj
Looks rad, did you use a modified skil100 pp with otf mod, LOL, how about a sureform? I have one that was used by cavemen! LOL, LOL BTW, I use a yardstick and my trusty 14" sanding block, LOL Then have a wine cooler and a cigarette. LOL Folks you might want to use this thing called a weight LOL, because theres a force called “gravity” LOL that, once combined with wind, can blow a green super quad fish right off the stands. I’m saving up for tape and brushes, but I keep blowing my wad everywhere, Man I should really learn to control my wad! LOL
