“Love those clean ProBox installs.”
Plus One glassed em.
…the 7 looks good
the fins looks good too
the leash plug is in not so good position, in my opinion
ACE, You the man! Very clean looking boards and Plus One did a clean install. WELCOME to the PROBOX MOVEMENT. Mahalo,Larry
ACE,
How did +1 glass those boards? I read people were glassing this foam with a single layer of 4 oz on the deck. Is this true? I’m curious about the leash plug placement, too. I don’t recall this on the boards you made me a few years back. I like the 6 footer. Do you still make the five fin and six fin Zing Things? Mike
I had these glassed 6oz bottom 6oz top with 3/4 4oz patch. I have seen some of the single 4oz jobs. While they were not denting 4oz is just not a lot of cloth. I like to make boards that last, dumb $ idea. These have a very"normal" weight feel. I suppose as I got more confident with the blanks and glassing I can ‘‘modify’’. These feel pretty good though. Not to stiff, not to heavy ALL GOOD.
I have asked “+1” to put my leash cups in the center, for some reason they put em there? George I know you are out there, why? Maybe so it gets the leash out from under you back foot cause swallow tails do cut up into the board!?
I still make all kinds of ‘‘weird’’ stuff. Some of the “Zingers” and “Six shooters” keep showing up to be re-made. So. Coast did not have alot of interest in that kind of stuff, another reason why i left. They came out with a “copy” of my boards shaped by “someone else” next thing I knew I was not making something I had been working on for years…Thats another story.
Hi Guys,
Yeah Ace, we got a new hardware guy who worked for Billy Hamilton on Kauai, the plug
placement was something from doing regular swallowtails on shortboards. I’ll have them
centered on the bigger fish tails from now on. Good to see so many shapes you dropped
off the other day. Pretty good that you’re busy, in opposition to the cold water and air
lately! We’re pretty busy too, but a lot of guys are slowed way down…
Those boards will be so strong (re: heel denting). We made some test boards a while back
with Ice-9 using single 4 oz decks and there was very little denting. Kind of like dentists,
you may have worked your way out of a job by doing a good job! ha ha.

BTW Ace, about the weight. My laminator said the blanks glassed really well and that
they did not soak as much resin as the average blank, which translates to good news
for the manufacturer and the buyer…

The boards are not heavy at all. What I would call a very good “stock” weight. got em on display at OB surf & skate anybody wants to see for yourself.
