Somethings fishy

That’s like…a Real wave.

A couple of friends just got back from Samoa. The airline lost this guys boards, and the only spare board around was a Pavel speedialer. Guess when the going gets tough…the tough get going!

thats cool. i recently took a quadfish to bali and never rode anything else, loved it. mt head sales guy in my shop is off to samoa with a twin and a quad and a std shorty thruster in 2 weeks, my bet he will ride the quad most too.

are you still coming to oz in oct? pm me some dates as im away during some of oct too…

jimmi , nice shots … cheers !

dave , how short is that green board in the last photo ?

cheers

ben

thats a 5’6" i make down to 5’0" regularly. the 5’4"x20"x 2 3/8" has the same volume as my team rider dru adlers 6’4"x19 3/8"x2 1/2" thruster

Feraldave is your shop at tweed heads??? I drove back from the goldy a few weeks ago and i thought i saw a diverse surfboard shop there. I’ll soon be doing a 7ftish quad fish, any advice?? anyone??. Im looking for a midlength board with a bit of performance, that’s a wave hog, and i like the idea of a big quad fish. Of course, it will have a 10 inch fin box for a single fin too!. Based purely on what i have been reading, fins for the quad will be all double foiled for drive, and the rear fins will have no toe, just maybe a little cant, but that’s really a noob’s stab in the dark

Cheers

if you’re there on the goldy again anytime SOON , Mark , PLEASE grab the “Auslocks” board , will ya ??? cheers !

ben

you should have called in! the shop is at Tugun just before the airport as you head south. lots of inspirational shapes there. im there most of the time( well im out a bit every day at the moment setting up a new factory). as for your big fish, i think its too big… i have guys 105 kg riding 6’2" and 6’4" fishes. as you go longer you lose the benifits and reasons we use fishes for. if you just want to catch lots of waves and generally cruise a bigger one could suit you tho. as for fin setups there is so many different combos you better choose what you feel will be right because psychology plays a big part too…

Im definately gunna do a surf safari up that coast one day with mates. Drive straight to the goldy, then come back, stopping here and there a day or two. I saw sooooo many signs to good surf spots, and the highway is pretty close to the ocean all the way down. Unfortunately, with our car full of sh&t, and a little one in the car, and NO roof racks, the board had to stay home, d’oh!!. Would love to have a go of the auslocks board, where is it now??.

Dave, same deal mate, i recognised the shop, but, as we were heading home with a little one who was not enjoying the car trip, i couldn’t really stop, though i wanted to. Thanks for the info mate, im going halves in this board with my mate, who rides a 9ft 'er, so it needs to be longboardish. But, lately i’ve been hitting the recycling centres at my local tips now and then, and i reckon it wont be too long before i score a bet up old mal or kneeboard ( found one yesterday, but it had been melted! ) to make a shorter one. That’s where i got the foam for my 6ft stubbie, it was a windsurfer, but 10 bucks later, its a 6ft stubbie just about ready to glass!!.

Cheers
