…to the guys waiting on fins / one tabbers / hemp cloth etc from me …
…it WILL come , sorry it’s taking a while
i am still working on some fins when i’m not sitting at this keyboard 10 miles from home
and ,
if anyone [like entity, soul’n’power, simon…] likes foiling their own ,
i will GLADLY send you fin blanks !!
Also , to anyone missing [? does anyone?] my photos , i’m sorry that i can’t find any computers which will burn my shots to disc , allow me to “photobucket” , and hence , post stuff here , any more .
…oh well, i guess i had a good run till now and i hope i didn’t overload the site / you all with photos previously . [it sometimes seemed like self indulgence to post photo stuff , so maybe the present lack of ability to post now is in fact a good thing , part of the 12 step weening off sways addiction plan, perhaps?]
Always loved your photo threads Chip. Photo threads are the best, esp if it concerns construction. Pictures being worth 1000 words, as they say… Plus of course as you like to say, “share the stoke!”. On your computer issues… There are ways around burning the pictures to disc. What is the source of the pictures? Are they print or digital? Print has its own issues of course, namely the time and effort of scanning them in. But if they’re digital, your challenges should be minimal. Most of the digitals these days have a USB cord from which to download the pix. The Canon Elph that I’m borrowing lets me just pull the pix off the camera as .jpg files without any software needed. If no cables for the camera available, there are a few different docks available where you plug your camera’s memory card in and plug the dock into USB. From there, no need to burn to a disc - just use one of those nicely small and simple USB jump drives (or thumb drives or whatever people call them). No need for the CD burning abilities, and most computers (even at 'net cafes) have USB ports. If you don’t have a home computer, I would imagine you could do all of that at the 'net cafe without too much hassle/ time involved (if you’re paying by the min/hour). A nice mini/portable hard drive would hold larger amounts of photos than the jump/thumb drive of course, and would allow you to archive them for your own use rather than having to delete from the thumb/jump every time you wanted to add more. Hope that helped…
my photos are neg film , put onto a disc with a silly ‘photo express’ programme i can’t figure how to ‘undo’ …it won’t let me ‘right click’ and ‘save picture as’ , unfortunately.
souly ,
cool fins …
are they pigmented or tinted , or sprayed after the moulding ?
you still have boards with fcs plugs , right ? [cos i’d be happy to send you some stuff , mate !]
i hope to be able to get some photos up sometime somehow .
no doubt hicksy will find a way , he the man for helping out with this kinda stuff … just have to catch up with him one day [pity ‘popeye’ is so busy , cos he’s also a graphic artist computer techno guy]
