sound-off

Wow… Robin!

And I thought I kept my shaping room clean!

Wow thats a really nice board. Awsome wood colour. I take it its a single fin.

How does that ride??

Thanks very much Cheater, it hasn’t hit the water yet. It’s what you might call a turbocharged single. . . . it will have a small tunnel behind the single. James (14) prefers the single + tunnel combo to the straight single.

Tht’d be kool

I love wood boards they rule. Dont know how to describe it. Kinda back to nature kinda thing. Except your putting glass on it.

nice stuff James and Roy! looks like Lopez could have rode it at Pipe.

will you be riding it without glass?

Cheers Josh, yes it’s just epoxy coated, no glass.

BTW is that you on your spoon in your avatar ?. . .looks like quite a turn happening there !

Hi Roy!

It’s George in the avatar. hopefully soon some of oz’s points will fire up waves like that, i can’t wait to try some solid waves on the spoon.

I like the sound of going without glass. its so expensive and a lot of the time unecessery on wood boards. Tom Wegener said he uses just oil on solid boards.

I definetly look forward to making a few wood boards one day.

Cheers.

Mighty fine concave there. Can you post a sketch of it?

Nice work TomBloke.

5’1" egg for the kids next door.

I like it !!

Single fin , twinnie , or thruster ?

will you be painting it up with funky colours , like “Hicksy” did on his little wooden one for his girls ?

I’d love to see a shot of the finished board Jeff !

cheers !

That is a really, really nice looking board. Really nice. I’m jealous. and would be stoked to see some of the others.

I am making a 5’10" classic fish at the moment.

Fine looking fins there.

Hi Chip. It’ll be a single-w- glass-on fin.Not alot of foam in that blank for a box.

More of a stub than a egg I guess.

Will post photo’s when done.

Only art will be a floral band on the deck.Just need to find purple and green

colored flowers on cloth or a pic.10 and 8 yo sisters getting the board for Xmas.

Aloha Consafos:

Keep an eye on the Resource section over the next couple of weeks as I will be posting photos of the finished boards up there, thanks for the comments.

I have attached a few photos of the one with the concave deck, it is a 7’ 7" turned out really sweet, enjoy!

trad log for my little friend: 9’1" x 22 3/8" x 3"

planning on some kind of fish for myself ( had the blank for ages)

trad log for myself (second with my new rocker design, my friend gets the first - “guinea pig”) mine will be 10’ x 24" x 3 1/2"

oh and then theres the hollow wooden experiment. research phase

here’s one project…

Hi Robin - How did Felipe’ like his big board?

He loves it!

Rode it on the last huge swell we had and it did everything he was hoping for. I just finished shaping him a 12’ hollow balsa board yesterday which I hope to post in the Resources once it is done. Turned out really nice!

Next project for him is a 12’ 6" balsa version of the foam board!
