Speed Finish

I have been spraying some of my boards with the speed finish. I get it from a place here in FL. called Glue Products.

It seems like I always end up with inconsistencies in my finish. I Have looked at some of the boards that I have had glassed and finished at other shops and they look perfect. I was wondering if I am supposed to lay it on thick for a shiny finish or just kinda mist it for a matt finish? Also when I don’t thin the stuff it comes out of my gun in strings and I end up with tons of overspray. I was talking to a guy who does it all day long in Melbourne and he said that he doesn’t thin it. It comes pre mixed so is it: A. my gun? B. my technique C. The product I am buying or D. all of the above

Thanks for any input.

Logic tells me if he is using the same stuff as you then it is either you or your gun. If not then I would thin the mixture more for smoother finnish and less for a matt finnish. I use speed coat and always thin it with the laquer that I got with it. 50% to volume for smooth 25% to volume for matt. You can also whipe over it with very smooth sandpaper.

hope this helps
