Hey all. I am interested in a new board and the Harbour Sperical Revolvers have piqued my interest. I am still learning about how design applies to the way a board rides and would like to ask your opinion about the board. http://www.harboursurfboards.com/surfboards.html Has anyone ridden one? How did it ride? What I ride now: -9’6" by 20 something by 3 1/4 -rounded pin -2+1 but ridden as a single fin -bit of concave in the nose -fair amount of rocker throughout the front 3/4 of the board -pretty hard rails (i know this doesn’t help too much) I really enjoy my current board. It seems to do well in almost anything up to 3 feet overhead. I am not big on moves, I just like the glide. Drawn out turns, trimming, occasional attempt at a noseride. I consider myself an intermediate surfer. Ideally I would like something smaller and a bit more manuverable, not neccessarily a longboard. Would love to hear some recomendations. One other question. As I have gotten better with the above board I have learned to pump it when surfing. Everything I have read seems to indicate that you cannot pump a single fin, or that it will not respond to pumping. Well it does respond. Is that because it is a rounded pin?

Whether from the past or present, designed and ridden properly, single fins can definitely be pumped…
Whether from the past or present, designed and ridden properly, single > fins can definitely be pumped… I had a 7’0" Spherical Revolver a year or so ago. It was like 21" wide, 2 5/8" thick. For me, the board didnt click. I used the Harbour Hi Performance fin which came with the board. It felt rather slidey, I never felt like it would grab when needed. It felt like the rocker was not tuned to what Im used to. Kinda felt like it was pushing water a little. Who knows, you might get one and like it, but Im just sharing my experience with the board. Good luck.

Is that because it is a rounded pin? i have not ridden one but have checked one out.pretty cool plan shape, but the rocker seems to be too curvy, and it seems like , with the type of rails it has, it might be a bit skatey, and would most likely need a rahter large area fin to keep it going and from sliding out.however, given what you currently ride this might very well be a good board to transition on.if you get one let us know how you like it.

Thanks for the feedback all. I don’t really want something too skatey. I will keep on looking around.
