spinning the globe

so,

i was hoping that i could post a question on the site and those of you that felt like responding could give me your ideas.

if you had 3 months to split and go surf/ travel somewhere where would you head? and why. i’ve already lived in hawaii so i’ve kinda been thinking something else, this location has to be warm/ hot as i am trying to get out of the pacific northwest for the winter.

so if you would be so kind as to just let me hear where you’d fly/boat/end up that’d be swell.

Do your self a favor and rent a house in El Salvador. It pumps year rounds and more pointbreaks than you can shake a stick at.

Its nearly summer here in oz, so hot ( and humid ) it is. The summer waves aren;t as good as winter, but there’s usually something to surf. If you’re looking for big, forget it though. Best thing ( for me ) is i can paddle out at 5 30 am, surf, then go to work for 7am. As the we get closer to january, i can be paddling out at 5am. At that time, crowds are virtually zero.

I love Puerto Rico and the VI. Every time a cold front sweeps across the NE of the US, it pumps in major swell in the islands. The stronger the front, the bigger the surf. It can get to 15 ft. on a good swell, but solid 8 ft. is more likely. Tradewinds keep it offshore all day in the Rincon area of PR, but the north coast is more consistent, with glassy conditions in the mornings, and sideshore chop in the afternoons. You could island hop for three months just surfing and diving and loving it. The only drawback is the urchins encrusted the reef just about everywhere you go. “Don touch dee reef” is the motto. I saw a guy who was paddling out in the wrong spot one day, and his hand hit the reef and he got stuck. The spines are brittle and broke off in his hand… maybe three or four of them. And they don’t come out easily… they keep breaking. So then he stops to look at his hand, and … you guessed it… gets off his board! He stands up and gets them in his foot too!

One less guy in the lineup for the rest of the trip.

my dreams are AUS/NZ, France/Spain/Portugal and Chile/Peru/Ecuador.

I think we’re pulling the trigger on France/Spain next fall…

DO IT!!!
