Hopefully a tri or a twin version?
Solo,
you’re killing me- I should just give you access to my Paypal account! I’m waiting for whatever it is happily as I’m sure it’ll be fun. I need to get back my starfins I loaned as with the surf this tiny they would be fun.
Does anyone know where I can buy the Spitfire fin in San Diego? Or on-line?
I want to try it in my single fin shorty…
You can get them online at Solosurfer.com. I ordered mine last week and check three times a day to see if it’s on my front porch yet.
Ride on,
Tom
Thanks Tom. Just ordered one too. I’ll be checking daily too…
Hopefully a tri or a twin version?
Lets say the last part of the name is also Fire.
The suspense is killing me. If you need test pilots, especially relatively unskilled ones, I’m your man!
I’m going to go out on a limb and guess that you are making…a hoopfire (a collaboration with sir banned-a-lot)! No? OK, turbotunnelfire (a collaboration with the greek)? Ringoffire?
AAAAAAAAARGH!
Someone had to do it… I finally found the limit of the Spitfire fin.
Don’t laugh - maybe it should have been obvious - but it sucks on a 12’ softtop in dumping 3’ beachbreak.
Back on the tail, just not enough fin, not enough drive to make sections.
Move up a couple steps, use that double-cheeseburger rail for some drive, start sliding sideways.
Move up about a dozen more steps (to the middle of the board) and its like skating on ice.
Run the final ten steps to the front end and its like there’s no fin at all. In fact, there wasn’t - 5.5" of nose rocker + 4.5" of tail rocker and only about 1/4" of the tip of the fin was in the water at all.
Still, I guess it made the board into a nice balance training tool… And I did stay out for about 3 hours, so I must have been having some fun But I guess its going back on the 10’
Hey Ben,
Next time you’re in SC bring the fin down, I’d be interested to see how it works on the 10’ green board, or the Santa Lagarta, as she was recently named.
No worries, Pat. PM me your phone #

Not one of those.
Double negative was a mistake…
Noel, Stop messing with my head! You used a double negative. Now I am wondering, did he mean not not? Not not means I’m right, but I think I’m not not not right. You prob meant no not. Hmmmmm…
OK, so it isn’t one of those. Can’t wait to see what you guys are cooking up in the kitchen…laboratory. Can you at least tell us if it is one fin, or more than one fin? If not, that is OK. Put me on the waiting list.

ha ha, “Ringoffire” =)
they sell those at the burrito shop by my house…
back on topic tho…
would a fin like this work as the rear of a thruster?
maybe the effect wouldn’t be as dramatic.
maybe as the rear fins in a quad??? ooh or a twinzer?
whaddaya guys think?

I want 'em as the front fins of a quad. Something dragless until you want to pivot around it. Maybe about 4.5" tall.
With 4" rakes in the back for drive, set wide / close to the rails. Hawaii-quad, not Santa Cruz quad setup.
Tri fires, Twinfires, and Quad fires are here. Being ridden in overhead surf as I type. Will go nicely with New Generation CheyneHoran surfboards.
Photos , ride reports please.
