Any opinions on this fin. Longboard House sells it and I think they are being made by Ames now. I have it on my 9’4" HP rounded pin and it works great. Has a narrow base so it is real loose and snaps a nice turn. Has pretty good hold as well, but probably would be better if the base were a tad wider. Tried it on more “classic” noserider types that were heavily glasses and did not work well at all. Think it serves lighter boards much better.
Most cutaway templates on the market are rather vertical and work quite well with rail bites. As a single they lack power though they are fast down the line and very quick rail to rail. A cutaway will hold fine if template altered so the profile is larger in the middle of the fin. If it has a more rake and tip profile it will hold well when nose riding IMHO. I’d be very surprised if your longboard nose rides well with the type template you have described. Mahalo, Rich
