Step Rail Bottom???

G’day,

Can anyone give me an insight into the bottom of this board? How does the step rail (not sure if that is the right terminology) affect performance. Does is have any functionality or is it just a gimmick?

No doubt the dancing horsey would make the board go a shitload faster…I’m curious about those rails though.

Thanks,

Luke

chined rails…makes for slicker transitions rail to rail

Cool fin.

Sure, board would plane on center section, and rails are free and non catching.

But, WHY?

Most surfing is done rail to rail, so stands to reason riding a board dead flat is useless. Also, when riding a wall, water is on one side of the board. When dropping straight down, it’s a workable shape, but no real advantage.

From the “bah, humbug” school of surfboard design!

Someone once said…you can’t fool water, it’s too stupid! KISS.

I have a longboard that has chined rails but they don’t look like that… I think LeeV made a board like that he called the Edge board or something like that …to me it’s seems like it would ride like a narrower board than it is… nice horsey… I would have puked harder if it was a unicornholio.
