Stingerless EPS?

I custom ordered an EPS Resin Research epoxy Fish recently, and when it arrived it turned out to be stringerless. I had hoped for a stringer namely for the aesthetic, but I was curious if anyone knows what difference it makes in terms of functionality?

Funny, but Firewire boards say the stringers, or else the balsa rails, add flex and spring to their boards, while Surftech says their stringerless TL2s have more flex without the “rigid” stringer.

Functionality depends on length, thickness, glass bill, bottom and deck contours… so you gotta factor all of that in. A short, thick, heavily glassed fish without a stringer will likely feel very similar to one that has a stringer, and will be fine in terms of structural strength, particularly if it has a concaved bottom.

You feel the difference a lot more with longer, thinner HP boards.

i was skeptical at first too..

but jim dunlop/mystic surfboards here in jax beach.. assured me  it would be fine...

and he was right...he said a stringer at this length would make the board too stiff....i dunno

all i know is the board catches tons of waves, and i have fun...here's a pic of my  6.4 x 24 x 3 mini simmons he made me
